April 15, 2011: Frost on the ground this morning?! A very late spring and cool temperatures, however, have not deterred either buyers or sellers. New listings on Salt Spring have been coming on daily, in almost every price category, while the buzz of activity among my clients and in our office, on the street, has been palpable.

There is still uncertainty in the air, with economic news on all fronts still creating confusion and some nervousness among those thinking of retirement locations or recreational properties. The U.S. buyer has all but disappeared, but given our temperate climate (usually a LITTLE warmer at this time of year) and unique offering (arts, culture, spectacular scenery, a highly educated and literate population), there is no question our wee island remains one of the best places on earth, in one of the best places on earth.
